Our Family Business
Welcome to Barton Homes, below is a potted history of our family company.
Barton Homes began in 1978 when Charlie (Snr) and Anita Barton opened their first residential park entitled Barton Park at Westgate in Morecambe, Lancashire. At that time there were 20 static caravans on the site, all included in the full residential license. Charlie proceeded to develop the park and replace the caravans with residential homes that had the characteristic stucco finish and tiled roofing. After 32 years the park still remains in the family.
By 2003 we had accumulated five Parks and our son Charlie Jnr joined the business. Having accompanied his father around the parks from an early age, Charlie acquired a sound understanding of the Residential Park Home business. Since Junior started in the business, more and more of the responsibilities of running and developing the parks has been handed over to him, to the point that he now shoulders a majority of the challenges that come with running any business, but his father is always on hand with informed knowledge and experience that is second to none due to his impressive 32 years in the business.
Since 1978, Barton Homes has gone from strength to strength in the Park Home industry, acquiring and developing parks allover the country. We now have eight parks in desirable locations across England, spanning from Cumbria, across to Yorkshire and down to Devon. While the parks offer relaxation in quiet and peaceful locations, all are within easy reach of the main local towns with excellent community links and most parks including a bus stop at the park entrance or being within short walking distance.
