What Our Customers Think

"Our Barton Park Home has been a real gem of a find for us. Everyone, without exception, made us feel instantly part of the community and each neighbor personally welcomed us. It is so pleasant to be part of this small retirement community of like-minded people with everyone having the same interest in keeping the park looking its best….and it does, no matter what the season. It is also very relaxing to live in such beautiful surroundings.

Our main consideration in moving to a Park home was to find not only a beautiful home, but a park which is well managed - in this, our park excels. We must have the best managers of any park. They are not our carers, but they care that we should all enjoy this park and all that it has to offer. Our managers, take a personal pleasure in seeing us as one happy family, all content in our retirement.

Dealings with the staff at Barton Head Office have always come with friendly efficiency. Charlie Barton Jnr. is always cordial and takes the time to get to know all of us personally.

We are delighted with our Park Home and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to take a more leisurely stroll through the latter years of their life."

David & Audrey Howarth

"I moved to a Barton Park Home in August 2009 – the best thing I’ve done since my husband died in 2008. The father and son combination of Charles Barton Snr. and Jnr. were very fair with me when negotiating the purchase of my Park Home and thereafter I received a great deal of help from the park managers in the office to make my move as stress free as possible.

My home is like a tardis – friends are amazed how much space I have once they come inside (especially the well-thought-out storage space) and it is proving to be a very economical way of living.

The park is conveniently situated on a bus route, near a railway station, and only a short walk into the local town, so I don’t need to use my car very much. Also, I have an unrestricted view from my lounge windows across a meadow to a castle, two churches, and some of the older houses beyond the viaduct – beautiful!

A really friendly community is developing here, we are all very supportive towards each other, so it is a great place for a ‘woman alone’ to live."

"I enjoy living in a Park Home for many reasons. The home is easy to look after, is very well insulated and has everything I was looking for, plus the park is in a lovely situation.

The park has barrier access and camera cover which gives me a very secure feeling. I wanted to live on a smaller park and is exactly what I was looking for. It is only a 10 minute walk into Knaresborough and there is a bus stop at the entrance to the park which means you can be in Harrogate in 15minutes, but the park also feels as though we are in the country.

I have found the utility costs easily manageable. There is a lovely atmosphere between the residents and if we can, we help each other when necessary. I found the whole process of purchasing my home very easy and the park owners extremely helpful at all times. I would recommend anyone looking to buy a Park Home to definitely take a look at Badger Hill."

Our park home is set in some beautiful countryside but within easy reach of local amenities and a larger town. It’s lovely to be in a quiet community where all the residents are friendly and helpful.

We were able to downsize and free up our equity to enjoy retirement. The part-exchange scheme went through very smoothly without much hassle. We would recommend Park life to everyone.

Susan & Dennis Lowndes

"We had no intention of buying a Park Home, just to downsize, but out of interest we went and looked at Barton Park Homes. The site was in its infancy but we saw the potential with the help of Barton’s staff.

At the time, selling property was impossible but Barton Homes offered us part-exchange. Having moved in we found no faults to speak of and any requests we had were dealt with immediately. We find the staff very helpful and pleasant at all times.

We find we have much more leisure time due to the easy running of a Park Home. The site is still ongoing but it is a beautiful location, people are very friendly and we have no regrets."

John & Cynthia Bates

"We have been in our park home for just over a year now and, of course, we had the usual doubts and fears about whether we were making the right move but once the move was completed it did not take us long to realize that we had made the right decision.

We initially tried to sell our old home but without success due to the downturn in the housing market. When Barton suggested a part-exchange deal we happily agreed. Once we had an agreement then the process went through relatively quickly and easily.

The park is everything that we had hoped for – a lovely setting, great neighbours and great staff. This gives it a good community spirit with everyone looking out for each other. Help is never far away if needed.

Within a few minute’s walk of the park is a lovely market town with pleasant riverside walks. Slightly further afield is the larger main town, which is served by a very good bus service.

The Park Homes are easy to take care of and were nice and warm in the winter months. Moving to a Barton Park Home has made our retirement dreams come true. Marks out of ten? Well it has to be 9!"

Mick & Dorothy Free

"Although home down-sizing is not always easy at first, after living at in my park home for a year, we can honestly say that, because Park Homes are so cosy and convenient to clean and maintain, our life has never been easier and we are very happy here. The park owners, the Barton family, have been very amenable and accommodating and the running of the park is very efficiently done.

One of the main attractions here is the support of the two ladies who manage the park and are always on hand in a most friendly and helpful way.

We can really recommend Park Home living and the location is exceptionally convenient. There is a regular bus service at the entrance to the park and shops are reasonably close. The nearest town is only a 20 minute bus ride away and there is a regular half hourly train to the County city.

You will love it!"

Joan & Charles Glen

"Our Barton Park Home site is by far the best Park Home site we have seen - a lovely country setting, yet close to all amenities. The site is well maintained, safe and secure – a perfect place to retire."
